The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition has a requirement for technical support for FDAs scientific assessment of potential effects of indirect food additives on human health and on the environment through extramural review and evaluation of specific Agency-identified scientific data and information, in the areas of chemistry, toxicology, and environmental science, that is contained in food additive petitions for indirect additives.
