1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3805; a management and operating contractor
for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering
Laboratory (INEL) is seeking an industrial Coopertaive Research and
Development Agreement (CRADA) partner for developing net shaped high
temperature catalytic cermet materials. This not an opportunity to
provide goods or services to LMIT or the DOE. Specific material
properties include light weight, mechanical strength, controlled
coefficient of thermal expansion, high melting temperature, excellent
resistance to thermal shock and oxidation, can be fabricated with
controlled porosity, and can be brazed to existing structural
configurations. The materials are catalytic to steam reforming, partial
oxidation of hydrocarbons to syn-gas, and to complete NOx destruction
at 800 degrees C under mildly reducing conditions. In addition to
completing the research, LMIT's contribution to the CRADA will be the
proprietary technology and preparation of the patent application
depending upon the success of the research. Royalty and profit sharing
between the partners will be negotiated at the time the CRADA is
established. The closing date for this solicitation is 30 days from the
