The Estimated Cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The new Annex will add approximately 84,000 gross square feet. The work consists of construction of a two floor addition of which the first floor is a warehouse and entry area and the second floor is office space. The warehouse and entry floor align with the existing building's first floor and the office floor aligns with the existing building's third floor. Interior renovations to the existing building, site improvements and landscape development are also required. The work includes but is not limited to a structural concrete frame on caisson foundations. Selective demolition shall be provided at the connection of the new building to the existing and will include asbestos removal at some concealed locations. The building exterior consists of brick, masonry, aluminum windows and built-up asphalt roofing. The work also includes demountable partitions, passenger and freight elevators, fire alarm, communication, data and security system and plumbing, HVAC and electrical work. Construction work for this project is anticipated to begin on or about July of 1996. This is a negotiated full and open competition procurement and will require submission of technical proposals in accordance with the solicitation which will result in a firm fixed-price contract. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response to the solicitation. A non-refundable charge of $100 will be assessed to cover the printing costs of the solicitation package. Payment must be submitted with the request for solicitation documents. Payment must be made by certified check, cashiers check, or money order payable to the General Services Administration. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Solicitation date is on or about March 22, 1996; proposal due date is on or about April 22, 1996. A pre-proposal conference will be held on or about April 3, 1996.
