This Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center requires readjustment counseling services to eligible veterans referred by the VA (Vietnam Era). The purpose of this contract is to provide counseling by social workers, psychologist, psychiatrists, or other counselors, (individually or concert) to amerliorate social, psychological or behavior impairment which interferes with individual relationships to overall ability to cope with problems encountered in daily life. Readjustment counseling services constitute social and psychological counseling to include individual group, family, and career counseling (other than job training, skills development placement services), and substance abuse counseling). The provision of medications and physical examination are not to be considered a component of readjustment counseling services and will not be provided under this contract mechanism. Offers will be expected to have the capability directly or through arrangement to provide physical assessments, medical treatment, and therapy. A solicitation will be issued in the area of Southern Oklahoma for the period of June 1, 1996 through September 30, 1996, subject to the availability of FY 96 funding, with 4 option years.
