The US Fish and Wildlife Service invites bids for construction of bird pens at the Patuxent Environmental Science Center, National Biological Survey, Laurel, (Prince George County) Maryland. The project consists of the construction of two bird pen facilities, each approximately 248 feet by 40 feet in area. Each pen facility shall include fifty (50) isolation pens each 8 feet by 20 feet in area and two communal pens 24 feet by 40 feet in area. The base bid includes site grading, pen construction, installation of a new water service with yard hydrants, electrical service from an existing utility pole to an electrical enclosure, concrete work, topsoil and seeding. Additive #1 will include electrical work to provide electrical services to each isolation and communal pen at bird pen facility No. 1. Additive #2 will include all electrical work to bird pen facility No. 2. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is an unrestricted procurement and is open to any business size. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered. Plans and specifications for this project will be available without charge. Issue date will be o/a April 5, 1996.
