The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division has a requirement for a sole source procurement to Remotec Inc. The procurement is for a research and development effort to upgrade the existing MK2 MOD O Remote Control EOD Tool and Equipment Transporter (RCT) to incorporate revised performance requirements. The MK2 MOD O RCT is manufactured by Remotec Inc and is a nondevelopmental item (NDI). Remotec developed and owns the design rights to the RCT. This procurement will upgrade the existing RCTs to incorporate new/enhanced capabilities. Only Remotec can ensure complete compatibility between the upgraded capabilities and the existing system due to their proprietary rights in the development of the existing system. (0086)
