Mark Lopez, (619) 553-4538. The second annual Submarine Communications
C4I Systems Technology Conference presented by the Submarine
Communications and C4I Systems Division of the Naval Command, Control,
and Ocean Surveillance Center, RDT&E Division is scheduled for June
17, 1996. The theme for this year's conference is: ``A View From
Industry''. The objective of the conference is to explore with our
industry partners, evolving technology which will provide significant
improvements to future submarine communications and C4I systems.
Presentations on the following topics, as they relate to the theme, are
being solicited from industry: Submarine Communications and C4I Systems
in Navy/Joint Warfare; New Technologies - Applicability and Benefits;
Software Development and Systems Integration - Improvements and
Benefits; Evolving technology providing significant improvements;
Automated, Unmanned, Paperless Radio Rooms; High Data Rate
Communications for Submarines (i.e., GBS, SHF, and EHF); High Data Rate
Antennas for Submarines; Multi-Function, Multi-Frequency Digital
Radios; Circuit and Packet Switching Systems (TCP/IP, ATM, and X.400);
Integrated C4I Systems; and Command and Control Systems (ISYSCON,
JMCIS). Industry leaders in these areas are invited to provide an
abstract of their proposed briefing not later than May 03, 1996
(NCCOSC-NRaD -- Mark Lopez -- Code 212 -- 53560 Hull St -- San Diego,
CA 92152-5000). The abstract should be 1-2 pages of text which
describes the proposed presentation. Do not submit company proprietary
information. All abstracts will be submitted to the Submarine
Communications and C4I Systems Division for review and selection.
Evaluation criteria will include relevancy to the conference theme and
strength of idea. Presentation should be no longer than 25 minutes,
focus on technical aspects of the topic, and address opportunities for
team building with industry partners. Demonstrations will be
