Disease Control and Prevention contemplates awarding a contract to
evaluate the efficacy of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
infection control guidelines in reducing or preventing nosocomial
transmission of tuberculosis in hospitals. Because several outbreaks of
multi-drug resistant tuberculosis involving patients and health care

associated with drug-resistant TB strains, this project will be
performed only at those hospitals that had CDC-documented outbreaks of
multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. To be eligible, offerors must (1)
have had a CDC-investigated outbreak of MDR-TB and (2) have undergone
follow-up study since the outbreak, and (3) must have treated at least
100 TB patients at their institution during 1995. The scheduled issue

ACCEPTED; only written requests for this solicitation will be honored.
