70 -- NOVELL NETWARE NETWORK OPERATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT POC Catherine Poole (202) 273-2700, Contracting Officer. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts intends to enter into a contract with Novell, Inc. under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1). Only one responsible source, to procure maintenance upgrade/updates and technical support of the following Novell proprietary software: Novell NetWare 3.x, Novell NetWare 4.x, Novell NetWare Network File System (NFS), Novell NetWare Management Agents, Novell LANALYZER, and Novell LAN Workplace for DOS, as well as for telephone support of such. The technical support will include software upgrades and technical assistance for an already installed base of users of the mentioned Novell products. Novell, Inc. is the proprietary owner of the source codes for the subject software packages and thus, is the only source legally authorized to issue upgrades/updates to the software packages. The anticipated period of performance will be for one year, with four one-year options. A solicitation is not available. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (102)
