PARTNERSHIPS '96 ``PROMOTING STRATEGIC ALLIANCES BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY, ITS PRIME CONTRACTORS AND SMALL, MINORITY, AND WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES.'' On April 29, 1996, the Department of the Treasury is sponsoring its third annual regional procurement conference, PARTNERSHIPS '96, which will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel National Airport, 300 Army Navy Drive, in Arlington, VA. The purpose of this event is to expand procurement opportunities for Small, Minority, and Women-Owned Business. The Department's prime contractors, such as Loral Federal, Unisys, and AT&T, have been invited to cosponsor this event to discuss potential subcontracting opportunities with conference participants. Treasury bureaus will offer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Card Requirements (PCRs) for current requirements. Procurement opportunities, estimated at more than $1 million, will be available in a variety of Standard Industrial Classification Codes; the majority of which are expected to be for ADP equipment/supplies and office supplies. The conference will feature seminars on such topics as: (1) how to prepare proposals, (2) how to do business with Treasury prime contractors (subcontracting and teaming efforts), (3) professional support service requirements, and (4) Treasury streamlining initiatives. Information on (1) accessing Treasury's Home Page via the World Wide Web, (2) registering with Treasury bureaus electronically, (3) tax information from IRS Small Business Liaison Office, (4) the Purchase Card (VISA) program, (5) EC/EDI, and (6) the Treasury's Vendor Express Program will also be available. The conference is scheduled from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm EDT on April 29, 1996. Registration will begin at 7:30 am. Registration rates are as follows: (1) on or before April 26, 1996 - $60 per person; and (2) on-site at the Conference - $80 per person.
