R -- TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR SMALL AND MICRO ENTERPRISE CREDIT PROJECT: INFORMATIONAL CBD REGARDING THE EXERCISE OF THE TWO YEAR OPTION POC Contact Point: Anne L. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), acting through the USAID Mission to Egypt (USAID/Egypt), intends to exercise a priced two year option for Technical Support Primarily to the Small and Micro Enterprise Development (SMED) project to support seven sustainable credit delivery systems in Egypt. The modification will add additional level of effort to continue support by USAID of the Small Enterprise Credit (SEC) project, which program is essentially the same as the SMED project. Because of the need for a continuing relationship between the Government of Egypt, the National Bank for Development and the contractor, substantial duplication of costs and the possibility of unacceptable project delays, USAID/Egypt intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for this additional work pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302, AIDAR 706.302-70 and CIB 96-13.
