The US Army intends to extend the ordering period for contract DAHC94-92-D-0008 with Digital Equipment Corporation for an additional 36 months beginning 1 July 1996. The extension is necessary in order to allow completion of fielding of the Corps Battle Simulation (CBS) and implementation of a Corps Battle Simulation (CBS) Service Life Extension Program. CBS is a large scale wargame simulation system executed on DEC mainframe and microcomputer hardware utilizing the DEC VAX/VMS (Virtual Address Extension/Virtual Memory System). The contractor shall provide hardware and data in support of the Corps Battle Simulation and Brigade/Battalion Battle Simulation systems. Each system consists of computer resources which execute the Government provided simulation software and workstations which serve as the human interface to the CBS/BBS simulation games.
