(202) 366-9563 The objective of this procurement is to have a
contractor conduct the necessary research to update the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTHSA)/American Association of
Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) guidelines for screening and
evaluating drivers, (emphasizing older drivers). 1. Select the
functional limitations resulting from the aging process and medical
conditions that impair safe driving. 2. Select procedures that will
assist the licensing agencies identify drivers; who may have specific
conditions. 3. Select tests that can assess the functional limitations
that impair driving. 4. Select or develop the general components of a
model system for use by State or Provincial Licensing Agencies to
identify and assess drivers with functional limitations that can impair
driving. 5. Update the NHTSA/AAMVA guideline ''Model driver screening
and evaluation program'', and develop a plan to field test the model or
components of the model in representative licensing settings. Requests
