Bariatti (202) 782-1280 (Site Code DADA15) The Medical Departments of
the Army, Air Force and Navy are seeking sources to provide
microprocessor audiometers for use with an automated monitoring
audiometry software program. The microprocessor audiometer must have
the ability to test up to eight individuals simultaneously. The
audiometer test frequencies must be 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and
6000 Hz, with 8000 Hz being an optional selection. The audiometer
intensity range must extend from -10 to 100 dB HTL with 5 dB
attenuation steps. Additional required primary features include:
successful interface with at least a 100 MHz pentium computer;
connectivity to the computer through a serial port; Windows 95 plug and
play compatible; software interface drivers required for Windows 95 and
DOS interfaces to Government-furnished software; a manual override to
the automated test procedures; keyboard calibration with a password
entry feature; electroacoustic calibration of the firmware using the
software; removable boards for ease of calibration; repairable
handswitches and headphones; mounting brackets for installation on
ships and mobile vans; operational under various 110/220 power sources
and under harsh environmental conditions; and a portable unit not
exceeding 10 lbs. The audiometers shall meet the American National
Standard Institute (ANSI) S3.6-1989, ''Specifications for
Audiometers'', as applicable. Interested firms are requested to respond
in writing to the above address within 30 days of this publication and
provide product literature and any other specific and pertinent
information on any current or planned equipment that satisfies the
above general requirements. Responses must reference the sources sought
title and must be limited in length to 10 typed pages. All material
shall be provided at no cost to the Government. This notice is not a
request for proposals and no contract will be awarded solely on the
basis of the responses hereto, or any follow-up information
subsequently solicited. All responses to this notice will be considered
prior to further acquisition action by the Government. Any information
received as a result of this notice will not be provided to other
contractors. No solicitation currently exists. However, any formal
