Sealed bids will be accepted from all business concerns for Baltimore-Washingotn Parkway Project BW 1C15,D17,E14,F17,G15,H16,J17, in Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties, Maryland, consisting of pavement restoration, shoulders, grading, drainage structures, and the final pavement overlay of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Roadway Excavation, 150,000 CY; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, 35,000 TON; Open Graded Friction Course, Grading F, 23,000 TON; Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete Pavement, 8-Inch Depth, 3,300 SY; Portland Cement Concrete Curb and Gutter, 10-Inch Depth, 36,500 LNFT; Precast Concrete Guardwall or Stone Masonry Guardwall, 1,900 LNFT. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 and has a construction completion date of approximately 475 Calendar Days. The following applies to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring short-term capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
