Sartain, Purchasing Specialist, 901/747-7618 This is to advise interested contractors that this office will be prequalifying contractors for an Expansion Project at the Jacksonville, Florida, Bulk Mail Center. The U.S. Postal Service intends to issue a firm fixed-price contract to construct a new 340,000 gross square foot expansion. Key features of the project include, but are not limited to the following: construct an expansion of approximately 340,000 square feet, including phasing, upgrading mechanical system, maintaining USPS operations during construction and coordinating with other contractors on site. The selection, negotiation, award, and construction will be accomplished in the following phases: Phase 1 - Prequalification of construction firms; Phase 2 - The prequalified firms will be supplied with 100% drawings and specifications; Phase 3 - The prequalified firms will be requested to submit a firm, fixed-price proposal for the construction of the facility. The estimated cost range for the entire project is $30,000,000 to $35,000,000. The performance time for construction is 700 days. Prequalification packages are available.
