The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement to support the on-going space mission for NRL's Oriented Scintillation Spectrometer Experiment (OSSE) on the NASA Compton Gamma Ray Observatory Satellite. This includes specification, development, operation, maintenance and upgrade of the OSSE mission operations and data analysis facility which includes major hardware and custom software systems. The contractor shall also maintain and operate the flight engineering model and supporting test equipment to test improvements and diagnose failures in the on-orbit systems. This contract would also provide engineering design and fabrication for the ARGOS satellite experiments and other detector systems. Offerors must provide an address to receive any supplemental package. The period of performance will be five (5) years. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by NRL. This requirement is a 100% set-aside for small business (SB) concerns. If adequate interest is not received from SB concerns, the solicitation will then be issued as open to all business concerns.
