Officer, (602) 856-7168. System, Nurse Call, Provide and install a
complete and operation- al Nurse Call System in Ward 3B, Medical
Surgical Unit (MSU) of the hospital. The system shall match and
interface with the ex- isting Executone Care/Com II-E nurse call system
located in Ward 3A, Special Care Unit (SCU). Nurse Call System shall be
a micro- processor controlled desk type station with audio-visual call
re- gistration. Have the capability for direct access of up to six- ty
stations providing immediate two-way communication. A hand- set shall
provide confidential conversations. The nurse control station shall
have a reset button to permit termination of a call originating at the
Nurse Control Station without hanging up the handset. The unit shall
be Executone, Care/Com II-E or Approved or equal. Nurse call station
shall have sixty station keys with with call indicators, six zone page
keys, one in-use indicator, one patient call indicator, one
talk/listen key, one incoming vol- ume control and one reset key, a
solid state amplifier with an output power of 3 to 5 watts, input and
output impedance shall be for 45 ohm lines. Frequency response shall be
peaked for maximum voice articulation. Nurse call single patient
stations shall be installed in Stryker cabinet style headwall units
that will be installed simultaneously. Nurse call work shall be
coordinated with headwall project. Units will be installed in center
cabinet but will have remote patient stations to enable patient
communic- ation with cabinet doors closed. The station units shall be
con- trolled by the system microprocessor and shall have excellent
voice pickup sensitivity. Removal of the cordset shall trigger staff
assist call or normal call with a selectable switch. The patient
station shall have staff assist functions. The speaker microphone shall
havean impedance of 45 ohms to match the system. Nurse call single
patient stations shall be provided with patient bedside controls.
Patient controls (pillow speakers) shall inter- face with nurse call
system and overhead patient light. Overhead light switch shall also be
installed in the center of the patient location. Provide and install
new cable from Nurse Call Station to each patient station. Provide all
conduit, cable, pull boxes, fire stops, hardware and connecting
devices for a complete and functional connection. Equipment will come
with two copies of operators and technical service manuals, to include
electrical schematics and parts list, full warranty equal to that of
manu- facturer or supplier, but not less than standard One Year for for
government equipment. Code Blue Stations: Shall be installed as shown
on the drawings and shall be part of the nurse call sta- tion. Code
blue alarm activation at each patient bed location shall activate the
code blue alarm at the Central Nurse Call Sta- tion and the Emergency
Room on the first floor. The contractor may use existing cable to
interface the nurse station with the Emergency Room annuciation panel.
Provide any additional wire, conduit, pull boxes, fire stops, hardware
and connective devices for a complete functional system. Storage and
Protection of Mat- erials: The contractor is responsible for storage
and safekeeping of all materials to be used in this work. Workmanship:
Work will be performed by a licensed bonded contractor. Systems: All
new equipment systems shall come with two copies of operator and tech-
nical services manuals to include electrical schematics, wiring
diagrams and repair parts listing. Guarantee: The equipment furnished
under this award to be shall be of hospital grade and guaranteed
against defective materials, design and workmanship for the full
warranty time which is standard with the manufacturer and supplier, but
in no case, less than one year from the date of acceptance. Upon
receipt of notice from the Government of failure of any part of the
guaranteed equipment, during the guarantee period, the affected part of
parts shall be replaced promptly with new parts at the expense of, and
by the contractor. The work will be located at Luke AFB, Bldg 1130,
Main Hospital, Ward 3B MSU. A site visit is required by vendor for
awareness of general and local conditions that may affect the cost of
contract performance to the extent that the information is reasonably
obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute
grounds for a claim after contract award.Normal work hours are between
0700 and 1630, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The
nature of the hospital mission may require the contractor to work
evenings and weekends at no additional cost to the Government. Clean
up: The contractor will remove all debris, scrap, and other foreign
matter from the job site daily and dispose of it off the military
installation in accordance with federal, state and local standards.
Government dumpsters will not be used for contractor disposal. Special
Working Conditions: During the project, the government will occupy
existing facilities. The contractor shall not restric access to the
facility and shall coordinate work with the govern- ment representative
to minimize conflict and to facilitate usage. The contractor shall
perform the work so as to minimize conflicts and not interfere with
ongoing operations. The contractor will coordinate all work and power
outages through the Facility Manage- ment Office. The contractor will
comply with regulations govern- ing the operation of the facility,
Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), National Electric
Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The
contractor will confine cont- ract materials, equipment and personnel
to the building and section currently affected by the contract. All
combustible waste accumu- lated during the working day shall be
disposed of daily and under no circumstances will it be allowed to
accumulate into a dangerous situation. Protection of Owners Property
and Personnel: Damage of any nature caused by this work shall be
repaired or damaged proper- ty will be replaced at no expense to the
government. If the contr- actor has not satisfactorily repaired or
replaced the damaged pro- perty, the government reserves the right to
make necessary correc- tions. The contractor shall reimburse the owner
for consequential damages and for all materials and labor used for the
corrections. Contractor will keep access, drives, fire lanes and doors
clear at all times. All individuals for site visit are required to
