Sinnott, (415)604-6927; Fax: (415)604- 0177 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes a formal Request for Quotation (RFQ). No written solicitation will be issued. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-38. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). This procurement is a total small business set-aside. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code and Size Standard are 3572 and 1,000 employees. NASA- Ames Research Center requests a quantity of four (4) each - 256 MB Memory Upgrade Kit for IBM RISC/6000 Model 590. The minimum hardware requirements are as follows: Must be installable on IBM 4.6 memory board. Twenty (20) years warranty with advance 24-hour -hot swap-turnaround with same or equal replacement. Must be IMB maintainable (offeror must provide documentation from IBM certifying that memory is covered by IBM under their field service agreement). The following provisions apply to this acquisi tion: 52.212.1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, 52.212.4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items with their offer. Representations and Certifications forms are available when requested in writing or by fax at (415)604-0177. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All responsible sources shall submit written responses which shall include (1) Solicitation Number, RFQ2-36381(SLS), (2) price, (3) a description with sufficient technical detail to show that the product offered meets the Government requirement, (4) FOB destination to this Center - Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000, (5) a POC - name and telephone number, (6) discount/payment terms and warranty duration. Delivery schedule is 15 working days after contract award. Quotations are due by 4:30pm PDT on June 17, 1996 to the attention of Sharon L. Sinnott and mail to NASA-Ames Research Center, M/S: 241-1, Moffett Field, CA 94035. All timely quotes received from small business will be considered. Award shall be made on an -ALL OR NONE- basis and to the lowest responsive and responsible offeror meeting the above minimum requirements. It is anticipated that an award will be made within 10 business days after the date of receipt of quotations. An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and contractors during the preaward and post award phases of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the contracting officer, or the selection official, but to communicate concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations of interested parties to the appropriate Government personnel and to work to resolve them. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The ombudsman does not participate in the evalua tion of proposals, or the adjudication of formal contract disputes. Interested parties are invited to call the installation ombudsman, Jana M.
