Federal Building No. 2, 1500 East Bannister Road, Kansas City, MO. Job
PCN RMO95000. IFB o/a 06/17/96. Estimated Cost Range:
$1,000,000-$5,000,000. Time for completion: 300 calendar days after
receipt of notice to proceed. No document charge or deposit is
required. Project involves: Renovation of approximately 45,000 sq. ft.
of general office and corridor space, including entry lobbies. Scope
includes demolition and replacement of walls, ceilings, and
architectural finishes, and related electrical and mechanical
modifications. Limited asbestos abatement in the form of transite walls
and vinyl asbestos tile. Base bid plus four (4) options. Base bid work
in this solicitation and resulting contract includes, but is not
limited to: All first floor office and corridor work not specifically
included in options. Phased work is required. The four (4) options
included are as follows: Option No. 1: Second Floor IS A - All second
floor work except that to be performed under Option 2. Option No. 2:
Second Floor RWA - Plumbing (including core drilling and roof work),
interior windows and frames, pull down movie screen, folding partition
and supportive structure, marker boards and installation, drapery,
acoustical panels, wood cabinetry. Option No. 3: First Floor East
Corridor - All work associated with remodel of first floor corridor and
lobby east of Column 20, including demolition and new work
(architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical). Option No. 4:
First Floor Conference Room 118 - All work associated with pull-down
screen, marker boards and frames, storage cabinet and multimedia
center. Any contractor or subcontractor performing asbestos or other
hazardous material work shall satisfy special responsibility and shall
provide bodily injury liability insurance coverage written on the
comprehensive form of policy of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence.
Such coverage must encompass liabilities arising from work with
hazardous materials involved. The Government will not indemnify against
