This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP) or Invitation For Bid (IFB). Solicitation is not available. Be advised that this is used for planning or information gathering purposes only. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information which you provide. The Sacramento Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC) would like to obtain detailed comments and cost estimates from any interested or potential sources so that the specifications can be further defined to include those specifications which are necessary to meet the Government needs. The following descriptions are offered as a basis in which to formulate a reply to this notice. Request for Market Research is for Electron Backscatter Diffraction Pattern (EBDP) system. The EBDP system's general description shall consist of hardware and interface equipment necessary for both automated and manual operation and analysis. The system shall be able to combine x-ray elemental analysis and electron backscatter diffraction to enable phase identification of bulk polyphase samples of completely unknown composition and crystallographic structure.
