Contracting Officer, (301)6843. This is a notice of intent to issue a
Request for Proposal (RFP)5-58513/235 on a sole source basis for a firm
fixed price contract to Stanford University. This effort will provide
for algorithm development and testing for Goddard Space Flight Center
(GSFC) as part of the ''Global Positioning System (GPS)'' software
development effort being performed by GSFC. Stanford University has
been selected by the NASA New Millenium Project to be an Integrated
Product Development Team (IPDT) partner in the development of an
advanced GPS receiver using state of the art hardware and algorithms
for spaceborne GPS receivers. The following documentation will be
acquired under this effort: Wide Area Augmentation Systems (WAAS)
Format Architecture, GPS Receiver Requirements, Attitude Algorithms,
and WAAS Algorithms and Software Code. Stanford University is
considered to be uniquely qualified under the statutory authority of 10
U.S.C.(c)(1), as Only One Responsible Source. Any other persons
desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their abilities
in writing within fifteen (15) days of the publication of this
synopsis to the Contracting Officer listed above. See Numbered Note(s):
