EQUIPMENT SOL N00024-96-G-5235 POC G. Michael Dodd (02522), Contracting
Officer, (703) 602-7904. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue
orders on multiple occasions over the period of Basic Ordering
Agreement (BOA) N00024-96-G-5235 with Raytheon Company, Electronic
Systems Division, 528 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776-3375. Orders
will be issued for material and services required for the evaluation
and implemetation of equipment changes to the AN/SPS-49(V) Radar. This
includes: conducting studies, surveys, evaluations and tests to
determine the feasibility and applicability of proposed equipment
changes during repairs; development of field change bulletins;
fabrication of field change kits, including necessary proofing and
testing; document changes (new and revised drawings, publications,
etc.) and any necessary packing, packaging and marking of end items.
Orders will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Raytheon
Company, Electronic Systems Division, is the original designer,
developer and sole producer of the AN/SPS-49(V) Radar. It is the only
company which possesses the knowledge, experience, tooling and
equipment necessary to perform the tasks described. No other source has
the technical qualifications and the necessary resources to perform the
work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy
the Navy's requirements. Companies interested in subcontracting
