K -- MODIFICATION OF M131 SERIES 5,000 GALLON TANKER SEMI-TRAILERS TO MEET (DOT) AND (CHP) REQUIREMENTS Due 061796. Contact: Contracting Office, Mr. Joseph A. Lindgard, Tel: (805) 594-6228. This office intends to purchase the following modifications on six (6) each 5,000 gallon tanker semi-trailers to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) requirements. Vendor must be able to degas tanks for repair and modification. Enclose existing over turn rails to meet Air Quality Management Board (AQM) Requirements Section 178.340-8. Replace dome covers. Install bottom loading with API adaptor. Install vent and vapor recovery system to curb side of vehicle, (AQM) Section 178.341-4. Install Scully Fiber-Optic overfill protection system with controller. Convert to single compartment. Install self contained overfill protection system with precheck (Thim Industries Inc. Model F613 jet level sensor or equivalent). Install brake interlock system. Install fusible link on internal valve; (AQM) Section 178.33-11 (c) (5). Perform external visual inspection and hydrostatic test on tank, (AQM) Section 178.338-16 and Section 180.407. Perform vapor recovery and leak test on tank and system, CFR 40 Part 60 Appendix A and Section 180.407. Certify and complete cargo tank registration for California (CHP) Form 408A, have (CHP) inspection and issue certificate and cab card. Quotes submitted for this proposal must be on Standard Form 18 (Request for Quotation) and received in this office by close of business on 6/17/96.
