U.S. Environmental Protection Agency anticipates the award of a
Firm-Fixed Price contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment
and services for a Contractor to Construct the New Region III and OPPTS
Environmental Science Center to be located at Fort George G. Meade,
Maryland. The Environmental Science Center is a new two story building
with a basement and penthouse spaces located on the north side of
Mapes Road, adjacent to the Mapes Road Entrance to Fort Meade from
Route 175. The building has an approximate gross area of 140,000 square
feet. The basement houses central plant equipment while the penthouse
contain air handling units and duct and piping distribution. Occupied
areas consist of office, office support, laboratory and field
operations functions. The project is estimated in the $30,000,000.00 to
$40,000,000.00 range. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be
ready for issuance around the 28th of June, a Pre-Bid Conference at
Fort George Meade on the 31st of July, with a Bid Opening in
Washington, DC on the 21st of August. THIS IS NOT A Small Business
Set-Aside. The SIC code for this solicitation is 1541. There will be a
charge of $200.00 (Non-Refundable) for one complete set of the
solicitation documents which include the Specifications and Drawings.
