In support of NASA Kennedy Space Center, EG&G Florida, Inc. is seeking sources to provide a water deionization system producing demineralized water(DM) by processing water from municipal potable water source facilities for the period November 1, 1996 through October 31, 1997, with an option for the period November 1, 1997 through October 31, 1997. Estimated annual quantities are approximately 390,000 gallons. Due to the limited storage capacity at the KSC treatment site, prospective sources must provide normal system services within two(2) working days of notice and emergency system services within 24 hours of notice. Qualified sources are required to provide proof of existing capabilities by submittal of detailed discriptions of at least two(2) currently operational system sites. In order to be considered a reliable source, the candidate shall affirm the capacity, and assure the commitment to provide water deionization system service on a continuous basis by re-plenishment and changeout of system units upon notice and performance of unscheduled or emergency services with a 24 hour response notice. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any source(s) exist meeting this criteria, therefore, no RFP is available. Interested firms are invited to submit a response within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of this notice which must include prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the requirement. Telephone responses will not be considered. Responses to this notice will be used to determine whether competition exists and whether a formal RFP is appropriate.
