Consisting of minor clearing and excavation, construction of approximately 200 feet of drainage ditch, overlaying entire parking area with approx. 450 tons of A/C and paint traffic markings. An additive item, Thunder Mountain Trailhead Intersection. Consists of approx. 30 cu.yd. of excavation, removing and relaying approx. 50 tons of aggregate base and paving the intersection (approx. 75 tons A/C). Forest Service will obtain encroachment permit from the State for both projects. Meiss Trailhead is located in Alpine County, 3 miles E of Caples Lakes, CA., on State Hwy 88; project site is north of the highway and approx. 1/4 mi. W of Carson Pass Summit. Thunder Mountain Trailhead is in Amador Co., approx. midway between Silver and Caples Lakes on State Hwy 88; travel east of Jackson, CA., for 55 miles on Hwy 88 to project site, approx. 0.1 miles W of Carson Spur. Approximate solicitation issue date is 06/26/96. Anticipated award date is 07/31/96, and will be made on the basis of written quotations. This acq. is being conducted under the simplified acquisition procedure. Purchases under this procedure cannot exceed $50,000. (0163)
