Scope of work includes but is not limited to disconnecting and removing the existing cooling towers, supports, related controls, chillers, condenser pumps, condenser piping and control values. Install a new diesel generator in the penthouse where the cooling tower will be removed and enclose and insulate the cooling tower room. Tie the generator into the existing energy management system (EMS) of the building for status and trend lagging. Install new power distribution equipment, wiring, piping and valves as per drawings and specifications. Install variable frequency drives for the existing chilled water pumps. Remove the existing chilled water piping and replace them with new. The completion time for this project is 270 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Specifications will be available on or about July 3, 1996. Proposals will be opened privately at the General Services Administration, Property Management Contracts Branch (5PMC-W), 230 S. Dearborn Street, Room 324, Mail Stop 3-3, JCK Federal Building, Chicago, IL 60604-1696. Proposals are due on August 1, 1996, by 4:00 PM (local time) and should identify the project tile, solicitation number, and proposal closing date on the outside of the envelope. The proposed contract is being solicited on a total small Business Set Aside basis. Proposals are being solicited only from small business concerns. Proposals received from concerns that are not small business concerns shall be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. The small business size standard for this project is $17 million and the Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1542.
