troubleshooting, data analysis, and software programming of both CAIS
components and Aydin Vector ALBUS 1553-1 instrumentation systems
currently being utilized in the F/A-18 programs at NAWCWPNS. Aydin
Vector Division is also the only known firm that can supply a
multiplexer/demultiplexer meeting the requirements outlined in this
synopsis. The GSU shall include one PST-800 card with manual. The
PST-800 card shall be capable of the following: 1. Using direct
connection to bit clock, frame clock, and serial NRZL data signals,
acquiring a serial PCM stream up to 6 megabits per second of 1553 data
per IRIG-106-93 chapter 8 format; 2. Providing full frame capture for
class 1 (fixed format) and class 2 (asynchronous embedded format) as
defined by IRIG-106-93; 3. Presenting acquired data per IRIG-106-93
chapter 8 labels or in raw, decimal, hex, or binary formats; 4.
Displaying IRIG-106-93 chapter 8 data with or without fill words; 5.
Displaying 1553 word type such as command, data, status, time, voice,
discrete with bus identifier; 6. Automatically adjusting to changes in
frame length and bit rate; 7. Providing a 32 bit input/output to
direct data to external sources; 8. Performing complete integration and
testing of Aydin Vector's ALBUS 1553-1 Programmable Bus Monitor; 9.
Providing the ability to program the ALBUS 1553-1 internal user
programmable devices; 10. Providing an IRIG-A/B/G compatible time code
reader/generator function capable of synchronizing to an external time
code source; 11. Allowing user to setup ALBUS 1553-1 options such as
number of tracks, bit rate, bus ID, discrete word values, merge frame
time, merge message time, merge voice, and merge discrete word. The GSU
shall also include one CBE-850 CAIS Bus Emulator card with manual, and
one CBA-850 CAIS Bus Analyzer card with manual. The CBE-850 card shall
be capable of emulating a CAIS Airborne System Controller and CAIS bus
command/reply traffic for Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) programming. The
card shall allow the PC host to act as an active DAU. The card shall
allow the viewing of 1553 data per IRIG-106-93, chapter 8 and shall be
capable of providing a digital to analog converter output to display
a selected 1553 parameter on a strip chart. The
multiplexer/demultiplexer system shall have full backward compatibility
with ARMOR-1 products designed and manufactured by Calculex
Incorporated. The multiplexer/demultiplexer system shall allow
aggregate bit rates up to 240 Mbps. The physical size of the chassis
must be less than 350 cubic inches in volume, and no single dimension
(height, width, length) shall be greater than 9 inches. The chassis and
all expansion cards shall be designed to operate in a ruggedized
airborne fighter aircraft environment (i.e. Mil-Std-810E). Interested
parties other than Aydin Vector Division must respond in accordance
