solicitation consists of 7 kilometers of grading, drainage, base and
paving. Project includes: construction survey & staking; construction
scheduling; electronic documentation; contractor sampling & testing;
roadway obliteration; residential housing; 12,500 metric tons hot
asphalt concrete pavement; 8,000 metric tons hot asphalt treated base
course; 18 hectares clearing & grubbing; 24,000 meters controlled blast
hole; 22,000 metric tons untreated aggregate courses; 44,000 metric
tons subbase; 800 meters pipe culvert; 4,300 meters silt fence, 307,000
cubic meters excavation & embankment; 60,000 cubic meters
subexcavation; 725 meters guardrail; 800 meters riprap lined ditch; 6
each culvert outlet control; 4,000 hours flagging; 1,500 hours pilot
car; 40,000 meters temporary pavement markings; 10 square meters signs;
27,000 meters permanent pavement markings, 83 slurry units turf
establishment; 1,050 square meters erosion control mats; and other
small items of work. Project is located approximately 16 kilometers
north of Klawock, Alaska. NOTE: This project was designed under the

synopsis.----The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and
payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80%
guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
