Richardson (505) 342-3454 (Site Code DACA47) Project includes removal and replacement of steam distribution lines and gas distribution and service lines in part of Kirtland Air Force Base. New steam lines are installed in a shallow cast-in-place concrete trench system with removable covers. Steam line insulation is mineral (glass) fiber in trenches and calcium silicate in pits and manholes. Aluminum jacketing shall be provided over insulation. Project includes limited asbestos abatement (where required) in manholes and pits and of buried pipes which are removed. New gas mains and service lines are polyethylene, with polyethylene valves. Project also includes pavement crossings and patching, and relocation of utilities. Magnitude of construction is between $5 and $10 million. Invitation for Bid DACA47-96-B-0027 will be opened on or about 20 August 1996. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 16 July 1996 at a total cost of $125.00 per set. This charge is non refundable. For those bidders previously on the Bidders Mailing List for DACA47-96-B-0010, which was cancelled after opening, plans and specs will automatically be sent to them at no additional charge.
