This is a notice of intent to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)5-59813/607 on a noncompetitive basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) ''Only One Responsible Source'' to Power Systems Technology, Inc., 105 Baylis Rd., Melville, NY 11747; 2 each, 200--Watt Uplink Amplifier, CHCD 29218-200/3886. Delivery to Wallops Island is required 180 days after contract award. The amplifier will serve as the command system RF amplifier for the McMurdo antenna system's command uplink system. This amplifier is the only one on the market that has IEEE-488 remote control and utilizes a unique software code, especially formulated to work in consonance with this antenna. Additionally, this is the only known amplifier which has been qualified for use in commanding spacecraft, a requirement of the antenna. Power Systems Technology, Inc., is the only known manufacturer of this amplifier. It is anticipated that the RFP resulting in a contract will be issued on or about July 5,1996. Any firms desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their capability to supply the amplifier within 15 days of Publication of this synopsis to GSFC/Wallops Flight Facility and the individual above.
