The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure MK 17 Mod 3 Magnetic Minesweeping Cable Assemblies, Interim Spare Parts, Associated Data, Engineering Services and Support. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source contract to Cogent Defence Systems, Queensway Meadows, Newport, GWENT NP9 OSS, United Kingdom, under the authority or 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Cogent is currently delivering prototype cables to the Government for prototype testing. Cogent owns the prototype designs; hence, it is the only company which possesses the in-depth technical knowledge of the equipment requirement to satisfactorily perform the work under the contract contemplated herein.
