vault toilet tanks, ventilation systems, toilet risers, and seats only.
The toilet building, including concrete floor, frame, exterior and
interior will be constructed by the NPS. The tank must be designed for
below-grade installation with a concrete slab above, be approximately
750 gallons in capacity, and be light enough to be installed by a
two-person crew using a backhoe. The tank will be ballasted by a
park-installed concrete pad placed at grade over the tank. The tank
shall include a minimum 16-inch diameter pump-out access extended at
least six inches above the tank complete with a lid. The tank also will
have an opening and a sleeve that extends six inches above the tank to
accept the toilet riser. The size and orientation of the tank shall be
such that several could be placed side by side and the toilet openings
would be no more than 82 inches apart. The tank also shall have an
opening and a sleeve to accept a ventilation stack. The ventilation of
the toilet, tank, and stack shall meet the USFS performance
requirements of the Sweet Smelling Toilet. The stack will be part of
the purchase and is to be at least 15 feet in length. The toilet riser
shall be white plastic with a smooth surface and have a continuous
interior sleeve that extends below the flange of the tank. The toilet
riser shall include a white toilet seat and lid. Five units will be
