U -- DIVING SAFETY, DIVING SUPERVISOR AND DIVING INSPECTOR COURSES SOL DACW87-96-Q-0065 DUE 071296 POC CONTRACT SPECIALIST, KATHY WALLACE, 205-895-1166 (Site Code DACA87) The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, intends to make a sole source award to Florida Keys Community College, Key West, Florida to provide all services, personnel, facilities, materials, equipment, supplies and travel necessary to develop/update and present training sessions for three courses of instruction: ''Diving Safety'' is to be taught 3-27 Sep 1996. The course length will be 160 hours (4 weeks). ''Diving Supervisor'' is to be taught 9-27 Sep 1996. The course length will be 120 hours (3 weeks). ''Diving Inspector'' is to be taught 2-6 Dec 96. The course length is 40 hours (5 days). The course location will be at the contractor's facility. The purpose of the Diving Safety and Diving Supervisor courses is to provide the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees, that are assigned to diving activities, the necessary knowledge, skills, techniques, and methods to effectively and safely supervise and perform underwater tasks, and effectively manage diving accidents. The Diving Inspector course is required for those people overseeing contract dive operations and are not currently certified as a Corps diver or dive supervisor. Copies of the solicitation shall be obtained by written request at no charge. One set of the course material for the Diving Safety and the Diving Supervisor courses may be obtained from this office at a cost of $50.00 (non-refundable). Payment will be made by certified check, cashier's check, or money order payable to: Finance and Accounting Officer, USAESC. Telephonic requests will not be honored. This is not a formal solicitation. The synopsis of intent to make a sole source award is not a request for quotes. Contractors who can provide the U.S. Army Engineering Support Center with the above services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response which includes, as a minimum, the proposed credentials and qualifications, any applicable pricing data, and any additional information indicating a bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis, and alll such responses will be considered by the agency. If no written responses are received within 15 calendar days, a sole source award will be issued. See numbered Note 22 (0176)
