Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is seeking
potential sources for providing maintenance services (scheduled and on-
call) for laboratory equipment found in an Army Research Laboratory to
include chemical, pulmonary, and hematology analyzers,
ultra-centrifuges, mass spectrometers, spectrofluometers, electron
microscopes, DNA sequencers, and more. Laboratory equipment to be
maintained is currently located at Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD; Ft
Rucker, AL; Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD; Walter Reed Army Institute of
Research, Washington D.C.; Natick, MA; and Ft Sam Houston, TX.
Currently the equipment is maintained by a number of contractors
awarded separate contracts. The planning is to award one 60 month
contract for the maintenance of the laboratory equipment. A firm
requirement does not exist. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. Responses
to this sources sought synopsis must: a) discuss capability to
maintain to original equipment manufacturer's specifications laboratory
equipment; b) discuss flexibility of resources to supply services in
quantities and frequency that may deviate from original requirements;
c) document previous experience in providing maintenance services on a
national basis, preferably to the government; and, d) discuss
qualifications of personnel, including certifications, experience and
training, regularly employed in providing laboratory equipment
maintenance. All interested sources should include business size (large
or small). The Government will not be responsible for any costs
incurred in furnishing this information. It is emphasized that the
requested information is for preliminary planning purposes only and
does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that USAMRAA
will take action in this particular matter or solicit for any
procurement in the future. All responses to this sources sought
synopsis must be received within 15 calendar days after publication of
