Ms. Azza Meshal, 908-427-4034. The US Army CECOM Space and Terrestrial
Communication Directorate (S&TCD) is conducting this survey to
determine potential sources for this system. The intrusion detection
optical communication system shall provide security of data without the
need for encryption (key management). The system shall have National
Security Agency (NSA) Commercial Communication Security (COMSEC)
Endorsement Program (CCEP) certification. It shall be able to transmit
data at a rate of 100 Mbps at a distance of up to 10 kilometers of
link length with a bit error rate of 10-9 or less. The system shall
allow the transmission of voice, data, imagery or video with full
duplex operation. It shall weigh 50 pounds or less and be mountable in
a 19 inch rack or fit on a desktop. The system sahll be Fiber
Distrivuted Data Interface (FDDI) compatable and use single mode fiber.
It shall be operational from 0 to 40 degrees centigrade. An
installation and operations manual shall be provided with each system.
The number of systems required, installation, training and maintenance
support will be specified in each delivery order. The requirements will
be to provide both staff and secure facilities, verified to at least
the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information level. This effort
is anticipated to be a Time and Materials type contract. Request that
supplementary brochures, technical literature and a description of the
equipment be furnished on products that provide the capabilities
sought. It is reiterated that the system shall currently have NSA CCEP
certification to be compliant. Interested parties shall respond to
this announcement within 10 working days of its appearance in the CBD.
