Moses (301) 713-0823 The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Reproduction Branch, has a requirement for Lithographic Printing Ink. The solicitation shall be an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The type of contract contemplated is an indefinite quantity contract with fixed unit prices. The contract period shall consist of a one year base period and two (2) one year option periods. The ink quantities which may be ordered under the contract shall range from 500 pounds to 10,000 pounds per year. However, it is estimated that 7,300 pounds of ink will be ordered per year. The colors of ink required are Black, Non-Skid Brown, Aero Magenta, Non-Skid Yellow, Ochre and Blue (two types). The IFB will require each bidder to furnish a 5 gallon can sample of each ink color listed above. All inks ordered under the contract must be delivered to the Government within two weeks of the ordering date. The required inks shall be used to print various close-register, multicolor NOAA maps on five color sheet-fed lithographic offset press machines at speeds up to 7,000 impressions per hour.
