Project: RFP for the Maintenance Dredging and Disposition of Material Dredged from Newark Bay at Port Elizabeth. Scope: The US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is soliciting proposals for the maintenance dredging and dredged material disposal for the maintenance dredging of Newark Bay at the Port Elizabeth Channel. The project involves dredging, to a depth -40 feet below mean low water plus a 2 foot allowable overdepth, and upland disposal of approximately 330,000 CY of dredged material. Beneficial reuse of material is encouraged wherever possible. Upland disposal in fully permitted facilities must be identified in STEP 1 proposals. Magnitude of construction is $1.0 mil to $5.0 mil. This is a TWO STEP procurement based on FAR PART 14.5 Solicitation documents for Step 1 will be available on or about 1 August 1996. Technical proposals are due 30 days following document available date. Only those firms submitting technically acceptable proposals during STEP 1 may participate in STEP 2. STEP 1 will include, but is not limited to, a technical proposal to dispose of the dredged material I. A. W. all laws and regulation.
