X -- MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES SOL FWS-6-96-1029 DUE 090396 POC POC: Michael College, Contract Speicalist, 303-236-5412, X227 Firm-Fixed-Price Contract for a Study and Report of the Quivera National Wildlife Refuge (NWR), Rattlesnake Creek Basin, South-Central Kansas, to identify and evaluate options for available Water Resources in the area. The results, of this effort will assist in resolving the problem of providing an adequate water supply to the NWR during times a severe drought, as well as allow for controlled, responsible irrigation activities. Five separate reports will be submitted that 1. Describe possible reservoir sites and potential storage volumes; 2. Describes potential for utilizing the Great Bend Prairie Aquifer as a Storage Reservoir and storage availability, artificial recharge, etc. 3. Describes alternatives to improve water management flexibility and conservation, including analysis of habitat and economic impacts and recommendations for most effective alternatives; 4. Describes source, volume, and timing of ground water components that supply surface water bodies, including analysis of economic and environmental impacts, plus a computer model, and 5. Details the evaluation of alternatives and recommendations for desired alternatives, including analysis of benefits and their environmental impacts, including the engineering analyses, designs, drawings, and specifications needed to implement the alternatives. The Period of Performance is 6 months from date of award, currently estimated to be early January 1997. This procurement is non-restricted and is open to Small and Large Business.
