Processing services, including pick-up and delivery services for (1)
Government-owned linen and garments for patient care areas-Estimated
780,000 lbs.; (2) Repair of No. 1 - Estimated 2562 ea.; (3) Marking and
Stenciling-Estimated 1500 ea.; (4) Government-owned linen and garments
for animal care areas- Estimated 420,000 lbs.; (5) Dyeing of
Government-owned towels processed under No. 4 - Estimated 3000 lbs.; 6)
Repair of No. 4 - Estimated 2400 ea.; (7) Marking and stenciling
identification of No.4 - Estimated 1500 ea.; (8) Government-owned
laboratory coats, smocks, and uniforms for laboratory areas, shop areas
and animal care areas - Estimated 223,620 ea.; (9) Repair of No.
8-Estimated 720 ea.; (10) Alterations to No. 8-Estimated 21,600 ea.;
and (11) Marking and stenciling indentifications and emblems for No. 8
- Estimated 30,000 ea. Special hand folding is required on all dry
work. Tailoring services including sewing patches (500 per week/26,000
per year), mending, and alterations (increase/decrease size of
pajamas, uniforms, and gowns). Government-owned facility and sewing
equipment will be provided for tailoring services. Tailoring service is
required Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (40 hrs. per
week excluding holidays). Laundry service requires delivery to the NIH
Animal Center located in Poolsville, MD; The Children's Inn on the NIH
campus; St. Elizabeth's Hospital located in Washington, D.C; The
National Naval Hospital, located in Bethesda, MD; and in several rental
buildings in Bethesda, Baltimore, Gaithersburg, and Rockville, MD.
Approximately 52 buildings (1,247 separate locations) and 10 satellites
are included. Delivery varies from five (5) days a week to one (1) day
a week. Laundry service is required seven (7) days a week, including
holidays and during inclement weather. Requested emergency service
requires a maximum of four (4) hours response time. Services are
required for one (1) basic year with options to renew for four (4)
additional 12-month periods. The estimated due date is on or about
