the Product Manager -Small Arms at the U.S. Army Armanemt Research,
Development and the 40mm high velocity canister cartridge. Candidate
cartridges must be: a. Compatible with the MK19 Mod 3 Automatic Grenade
Machine Gun. b. Effective against unprotected personnel from 0 to 100
meters at ambient, hot and cold temperatures. C. Capable of providing
a 90% probability of hitting a standing man-size target at 100 meters
when fired in a three round burst. D. capable of providing 85%
reliability with 90% confidence level. A preliminary Technical Data
package (TDP) will be provided for informational purposes only, if the
proposed company does not already have a non-developmental item to
meet the cited criteria. This synopsized request for information (RFI)
is for planning purposes and should not be construed as a request for
porposal (RFP). The subsequent RFP will require fifty (50) Canister
cartridges to be delivered in the Feb 97 time frame (approx.) for
initial demonstration testing. If successful, a contract to fabricate
the qualification test hardware would then be offered to the successful
contractor. It is requested that all responses to this market survey be
