The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a firm fixed price (FFP) contract to Fincantieri, Divisione Grandi Motori, Bagnoli della Rosandra, 334, 34018 Trieste - Italy. The proposed acquisition is for up to six (6) Isotta Fraschini ID 36SS6V-AM Anti-Magnetic Diesel Propulsion Engines, and associated data for delivery in accordance with the schedule. The ship design is such that any change to the power plant would require major changes to the engine compartment. No other engine is technically compatible for installation in the MCM Class ships.
