USDA intends to negotiate with the University of North Dakota, to furnish human subjects for nutritional research studies at the USDA, Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center, Grand Forks, ND on a sole source basis. The Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center and the University of North Dakota have a cooperative agreement wherein scientists from the two institutions participate in cooperative research which includes studies on human volunteers. All proposed research projects are coordinated through the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Human Studies Committee. The University of North Dakota's commitment to human nutrition research and in-house capabilities make them the only known responsible source for providing this service.
