404-8158. Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for a complete
turnkey system for light force and heavy force parallel gap welding to
accomodate gold, kovar, copper and other common electric bonded metal
with ribbon width of 7, 10, 20, and 33 mils, throat depth of 12 inches
or greater, intergrated system including at least baseplate, weld head
mounts, optics, illuminator, dc welding power supply (dc constant
voltage), parallel gap welder heads, cables, foot pedal, deep access
parallel gap electrodes, burnishing disks and stone. Welding power
supply should provide constant voltage direct current welding pulse,
adjustable pulse duration (1ms to 9999 ms), adjustable voltage
amplitude (0.01V to 1.1V), self adjusting current pulse waveform to
maintain constant weld voltage (up to 600 A), supports up to 60
welds/min, constant voltage regulation within 25mV, and manual selected
weld voltage and weld duration. Light force welding head should have a
stroke of 0.75 in., force selection via digital indicator, force
calibration of +/- 2% and includes calibration curve, adjustable
electrode gap of 0-40 mils and a work height of 0 to 5.5 inches. Heavy
force welding head should have adjustable electrode gap of 0-40 mils
and be continually adjustable, have adjustable electrode travel up to
0.50 inches, and adjustable electrode force of 4 oz to 10lb and max
step of 0.025 inches. Optics should be stereo-zoom microscope of 0.7x
to 3.0x. Oral request will not be accepted. (0232) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0201 19960820\34-0001.SOL)
