65 -- STANDING ORDER FOR BACTEC 460 SYSTEM MEDIA SOL N0016897RC0L044. Due 082696. POC Contracting Officer, MARY A. LUTTON, 301-295-6491. The National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD has a requirement for the Laboratory Medicine Department, Microbiology Branch. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced standing order to Becton-Dickinson for the delivery of TB media to be used in the BACTEC 460 System. Becton-Dickinson is the only source of media designed for use in the Bactec 460 system. The following items will be procured: (1) (36 PG) Cat #4402004 Bactec 12B Blood Culture TB Media (3 PGs per month); (2) (24 PG) Cat #4402103, Bactec NAP Antibiotic Reagent for TB Media (2 PGs per month); and (3) (Cat #4400534, Bactec PTK QC reagent for TB Media (1 PG per month). Period of performance will be from 1 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 with a base period and four (4) renewable one-year options. Anticipated award date is 1 Sep 1996. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).
