70 -- POOLED ANALYTICAL STEREOPLOTTER SYSTEM (PASS) SOL DMA100-97-R-5000 DUE 093096 POC Point of Contact: Contract Specialist,Linda Grasso (301) 227-2302, Contracting Officer, Jean Appel(301) 227-2295, Fax (301) 227-2218 or 227-5573 The Pooled Analytical Stereoplotter Systems (PASS) are operated by the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) Operations Group in St. Louis, Mo. The PASSs consist of a central host computer (PASS Central Site) linked to satellite host computers via communications link. Each satellite host computer provides support to one analytical stereoplotter instrument. The type of host computers used on the PASSs are Modular Computer Systems (MODCOMP) Classic mini-computers. There are two PASSs (PASS VII and VIII) involved in this procurement and are used for DMA production work. The objective of this procurement is to replace worn-out peripherals, consisting of disk drives (Perkin-Elmer, Model ST-222; Control Data Corp, Model BK7A1A; Modular Computer System, Model BK7B2W), graphic computer terminal (Tektronix, Model 4115B), color printers (Tektronix, Model 4692). Due to age, design, and advances in technology, there is no direct replacement equipment. Contractor is to provide the necessary equipment to replace the above stated items and any part or item necessary for efficient and proper operation of the PASSs.
