synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number RFQ 47-DA-96 is
issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 90-38. SIC Code is 3531 and the small business
size standard is 750 employees. Contractor shall provide a 4-wheel
drive backhoe loader/extendahoe capable of digging to a minimum
extended depth of 17.5 feet with a bucket cylinder digging force of
10,500 pounds/feet minimum. A stabilizer spread between 9 and 9 1/2
feet is required with flat cemetery heavy duty pads. The backhoe must
have a diesel engine with a minimum of 75 gross horsepower, a cab with
heater, suspension seat (cloth), dual batteries, dual level control,
drive shaft guard, and a backhoe bucket coupler. The backhoe must
include a loader bucket (82'' maximum width) with bolt-on cutting
edges. The backhoe must also include a 36'' cemetery bucket, 18''
Hensley frost bucket (V-shaped), and frost hook (minimum of 24''
depth). The tires must be at least 8 ply with turf type tire tread and
of such quality to support weight of tractor while operating. Please
indicate trade-in value of 1985 Case 580E Tractor Loader/Backhoe with
buckets located at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th
Avenue So, Minneapolis, MN 55450. The items listed above are Brand Name
or Equal to the Case 580L which is intended to be descriptive, not
restrictive, and is to indicate the quality and characteristics of
products that are satisfactory. Deliver F.O.B. Destination 120 days
after receipt of order, to Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th
Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55450. The solicitation provisions
clauses incorporated herein are those in effect through the FAR FAC
