The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to procure investigation services of various techniques for monitoring of debris particles in oil and other fluids. The program will consist of: 1) evaluating several methods of debris detection using optical imaging techniques to include Lasernet Oil Debris Monitor, Lasernet Fines Debris Monitor 2) supporting data interpretation efforts and testing, 3) constructing experimental configurations of Lasernet Fines Debris Monitor 4) calibrating the Lasernet Fines Debris Monitor with known debris samples 5) evaluating used oil and other types of fluid samples 6) investigating methods to speed up the acquisition of image data 7) supporting debris particla morphology interpretation efforts by acquiring and reducing debris particle data so to formulate debris classification schemes.
