NETWORK SERVICES OVER G-MAN SONET Contact Mary Stedman, Contract
Specialist, (202) 205-3725. The General Services Administration (GSA)
has implemented G-MAN, which is a Government Metropolitan Area Network
comprised of a transport system based upon SONET bi-directional line
switched OC-48 ring technology. G-MAN now forms the transport system
that supports GSA's Washington Interagency Telecommunications System
(WITS). GSA is making this SONET Network available without cost to
vendors who have a desire and the capability to deliver competitively
priced Access Arrangements and Value Added Network services to
Government authorized users in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
GSA is offering use of its SONET ring under terms of a standard
Memorandum of Agreement between the Government and qualified vendors.
Interested vendors must demonstrate to GSA the financial, technical,
management, marketing, provisioning and billing capabilities of their
companies to qualify for use of G-MAN. Vendors must also provide to GSA
a copy of their existing Equal Access Agreement with Bell
Atlantic-Washington, DC, Inc to be able to connect through the Bell
Atlantic Network to GSA's private SONET Network. Vendors shall be
solely responsible for any costs (e.g., Equal Access Tariff fees)
associated with the connection through the Bell Atlantic tariffed
access to G-MAN. GSA is seeking qualified vendors who can provide, at
competitive rates, high speed, flexible, point-to-point or Value Added
Network services such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and Frame
Relay, Internet Access, and other current and emerging transport system
software for Voice, Data, Image and Video applications. Vendors may

completes and submits the required information and GSA evaluates and

vendor, a Memorandum of Agreement will be executed and the vendor can
begin providing services via G-MAN to Government authorized users. This
offer shall remain open from date of issuance until closed by the
